Employability and Skills Enhancement Centre
LCBMIT has launched its Employability and Skills Enhancement Centre (ESEC) which is to help students find work experience, and develop the skills required by employers, in your studies and life in general. The ESEC’s role is also to build links with businesses and employers, and many students have already gained work experience in the following places: restaurants, schools, health and care centres, hotels, and many more.
How will it work?
We will:
• Be building and managing relationships with employers and businesses
• Place all work placements on LCBMIT’s Student Noticeboards in the Balham campus and on the LCBMIT website where applicable
• Require you to submit your CV and if shortlisted we will have a meeting with you to further assess you suitability to the position
• Provide you feedback on areas of improvement on your CV and tips if you are referred to the business for a ‘real’ interview with them
• Ensure students are doing well if you are successful if getting a work placement and ask feedback from your employer

Executive Lecture Series
Guest Speakers from local community and Business environment also invited to deliver lectures. The Guest Speakers Program at the College provides many learning opportunities for students. Every Often the College brings perspectives of leading experts in their fields and providing a forum for students others to meet and discuss important issues.
Alumnus Scheme
LCBMIT alumni scheme will be available to all students who ‘graduate’ from the College. Current and future benefits to alumni members include:
• The opportunity to keep in touch with fellow students (e.g. via LCBMIT Facebook page, reunions, etc.)
• Professional development via a range of short courses
• Access to LCBMIT resources e.g. books, journals, etc.
• Discounts on books
• Networking opportunities via invitations to high-profile LCBMIT events
• Business support for ‘budding’ entrepreneurs
Student Ambassador and Talent Management Scheme
Each course running in LCBMIT will have a student ambassador, elected by his/her peers. The purpose of the scheme is to improve the quality of the learning experience at the College. In the Student Ambassador Scheme, post holders can present their views and interests at meetings with staff. They will support newly joined students and those progressing in their studies at LCBMIT, and help with arranging on-campus and extra-curricular activities for students. In addition, ambassadors can develop improve their ‘soft-skills’ and enjoy opportunities to network both inside and outside the college environment.
The Talent Management Scheme is aimed at students who demonstrate exceptional levels of creativity or entrepreneurialism. Students will be provided with support in terms of personal development; business planning and obtaining finance (for personal projects) and networking.
