IELTS (CEFR B1-B2)

This course is also aimed at international students, but is also relevant to those wishing to learn English as a second or foreign language.

For international students the UK Border Agency made the IELTS test compulsory, or any other UKBA approved ‘secured English language test’, for all students seeking to study in the UK. For students that wish to join a main academic programme and extend their studies at LCBMIT, an IELTS score must be obtained according to the level of the main programme being applied for.

A variety of question types is used. Questions types that you will see will usually come from the following list:

multiple choice

short answer

sentence completion

notes/summary/diagram/flow chart completion

others

Entry requirements:

• Students must possess a minimum of equivalent IELTS 4.0 Band to be accepted onto this course

Assessment

• External exam at a Pearson testing centre (e.g. Holborn, Kingston, etc)

Progression

• To a main academic programme (i-e Business Management, IT, etc) subject to achieving a minimum score required for the main programme
